4 On-Page SEO Techniques That Will Make Google Hate You

The ultimate goal of SEO to rank a site higher on Google  to achieve maximum conversions by increasing its usability. The SEO experts know that to get high ranking on Google is not easy because SEO is not about just creating engaging content, but  it also requires optimized on-page and off-page SEO factors, properly researched strategy and long lasting search value. Therefore, white hat SEO requires a lot time and effort. It was a time when Google tolerated black SEO but they are strictly forbidden. Here you’ll find on-page SEO techniques that Google hates and you should avoid if you want higher rankings.

Keyword Stuffing

Now the digital marketers have recognized the power and value of content marketing because now SEO is more current driven than ever. But several years ago, marketers didn’t understand the value of quality content and they just created content with zero value to stuff keywords. At that time, this black hat technique was very common due its simple process. The process was like research keywords, produce content on the topic, then stuffed those researched keywords and stuffed same keywords in the meta tags as well.

Then finally in 2011, this practice was put to end when Google released Panda Algorithm Update.

Now Google has targeted sites having low quality, thin or plagiarized content and just favors content that is authentic and meaningful. So, marketers should avoid this technique and if they will use, search engine will penalize their site.

Cloaking

Cloaking is popular, black hat technique in which two different pieces of content are presented, meaning that the piece of content presented to search engine spider was  different from that presented to users. The marketers used this technique to manipulate the search engines to get high rankings or to rank higher a specific page. Though Cloaking was marked as the black hat several years ago, but it is still widely used by marketers. Marketers should avoid this tactic because it can ruin the search engine rankings.

Content Swapping

There was a time when black hat practitioners could easily trick Google’s indexing protocols. It is also an old-school SEO technique. It used to work like posted a piece of content and when the site displayed after Google bots crawled and indexing, then they closed the site from indexation and swap the content. However, Google never found it legitimate, but Google’s indexing and re-indexing was was not quick at that time. That’s why SEO experts could easily manipulate Google’s Algorithm.

Now, with the changing SEO landscape it is not possible because can immediately  cut the rankings of such sites.

Spammy Footer Links

Undoubtedly, footer is one of the ‘must haves’ of a website which provides additional information regarding the site and helps users to navigate between different section. Wide-side footers were the common practice but Google noticed that site’s footers were stuffed with lots of links and tags.

Then Google’s Panda and Penguin Updates targeted the sites with poor website structure, engaging in link and tag manipulation. So, instead of spamming the footer you should add some additional information in the footer like address, working hours, copyright license, subscription field and more.
